The Steinmetz Alumni Association is a not for profit organization. Your membership and donations are very important to the running of this organization. These memberships and donations allow us to sponsor events, create and send out the newsletters, help classes organize their reunions, maintain our membership databases and website, and the support our school and it's students.

There are several areas in which we can help our school, it's students and staff. One area that is always is overlooked, when CPS makes it's budget, is the Music Department. See the list below of items that are needed by the Music Department.

The Steinmetz Bands and Orchestras proudly participated in Chicago’s long history of parades and competitions, since its founding in 1936. Sadly, CPS budget cuts resulted in the complete abandonment of the Band and Orchestra Programs several years ago.
The Band and Orchestra programs have been resurrected, but the students share instruments, that are cleaned with alcohol, between classes. These music programs are in dire need of musical instruments.
Do you, your family, or friends have any used band or orchestra instruments sitting in a closet gathering dust? Please consider donating them to the Steinmetz Music Dept. Music students that can not afford an instrument, can have the opportunity to participate in band and/or orchestra programs.
Your generosity may change the path of a student’s
life.

instruments, equipment or funds to towards the purchase an instrument. You do not have to donate the full price of an instrument.
All donations, no matter how small or
large, will be greatly appreciated.
